Grand Knight Column

As you all know by now I will be your
new Grand Knight for the coming year.

First, I would like to thank all the
Brothers and their Families for any help
that they can give to me for the
upcoming year.  This year we are going
to try to bring more people together so
we can be a WHOLE Council.

My thought for this year would be
UNITY. Working on that thought I have
implemented a program so the Widows of
Deceased Brothers of our Council can be
members of the Home Association.

I have received a Thank You letter from
a Widow who has received her card.  She
states, “That I would like to express my
sincere appreciation to each of you for
extending the opportunity to me to be
part of Stella Maris Council 3546.  The
Knights of Columbus is an organization
that has always been close to the heart
of my Husband & me.”

In response to this letter I would like any
Widow of a deceased Knight of this
Council to stop by & apply for this
program at no cost.

Any thoughts or ideas that you may have
to help me with this UNITY project,
please do not hesitate to discuss them
with me.

Keeping the Blessed Mother in our
prayers & thoughts.

A Matter of Importance

It is very important that every Knight
carry their membership card with
them at all times.  If you do not
present your card when attending the
Council Meeting, you will not be
admitted into the meeting. We are not
trying to be punitive but trying to
follow the rules of the Order.

SUMMER  TIME ! ! !

Finally, Its here - “The Good Ol’
Summertime.  Those
hazy, crazy days of summer”.  It’s
time to get out and meet, greet and
socialize. There’s no better place to
do it, than your Home Association.
As you can see we have a busy
summer planned and your company
and support would be greatly
appreciated by all.  So, come out
and enjoy each others company and
partake of  the food and
entertainment. Especially, after
such a  bad winter and a busy
Spring  cleaning up after the
winter.

Your Home Association has been
busy, too.  With the installation of
a new roof, dealing with “ground
water” issues,  routine
maintainance of the  building,
snow and ice removal- Ol’ Man
Winter has kept us hopping.  We
are anxious to get back to our
“normal activities “; which keeps us
plenty busy.  But that kind of busy
we enjoy. Providing a place  to
show our appreciation for your
support and entertainment.

A list of newly elected and
appointed officers will be
forthcoming in a future newsletter.
We are always looking for
suggestions and ideas to keep  the
interest and support of our
members.

In closing , I would like to ask your
support for a worthy cause. The
Spirit Players will be holding a
Spaghetti Dinner at St. John of
God School Hall on June 27, from 4:
00 - 7:00 PM. The price of tickets
are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for
children under 12.

Thank you for your support over
the past year and we look forward
to serving you in the upcoming
year.

Respectfully,

ALAN J GIBBONS,  President

------------------------------------------------
We're halfway through our Early-Summer
Shuffleboard League season and the
competition is picking up! Of course, it's all
just practice for the playoffs!

A good time was had by all, April 28th, at the
End of Season Shuffleboard Party, that
started out at Lighthouse Pointe and wrapped
up at the K of C. The food was great and
everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

We're always looking for new players! So if
you'd like to experience a little friendly
competition, good company and lots of fun and
laughs, stop by Wednesday nights at 7pm and
check it out!
